Shutterfly!

My interest was sparked this year as I read about friends of mine following a Shutterfly promotion. The offer was for 50 free holiday cards for bloggers. In the past my family has used Shutterfly for a variety of things. We have given and received invitations, photo cards and birth announcements. If you are interested in examples you can use the following site:

or

The things I was most surprised by was those who qualified for the promotion were able to pick ANY photo card they chose. Some cards have the availability for more than one photo. I assumed with such a great deal options would be limited - but this is not the case at all with Shutterfly!

Coming from a business background - I truly see that Shutterfly is using a great marketing campaign to draw more viewers to their products. I have seen and received awesome photo calendars as well. If you are interested in examples you can use the following site:

Overall, I am very impressed with the customer service, product variety, and great idea that Shutterfly is offering this holiday season.

1st week

So, my first full week started out very very strong. However, I faced some challenges towards the end of the week going in to the weekend. Two in particular. For starters, Jen went away this weekend on a bachelorette getaway and I tend to eat crazy when Jen's not around. It's for multiple reasons, but mostly because I'm lazy and I don't want to cook for myself. Secondly, I was dog-sitting this weekend and I wasn't at home so it's even tougher to settle down and make something. So, all that being said, I still lost some weight. I started at 237 lbs. last Sunday night and as of tonight I was 232.6 lbs. My goals for running were not met and I ran only 6 miles this week. I only did my ab workout once. So, all in all, a tough week. I'm looking forward to settling back in to a routine this week and having Jen around. It makes things that much better. My two goals this week as far as weight and running are as follows:

Weight loss - 3 lbs (229 lbs)
Running - 13 miles (Jen and I will be following a strict training regimen found here http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm)

Good luck to everyone!

And off we go...

I feel as though alot of times when it comes to exercise and healthy eating, it's always talk. There's never any backing it up. Well, I'm starting over. Jen and I got to spend some time together in the car this weekend on our way to Virginia, and on our way home. Our conversations always tend to gravitate towards our "dreams." Well, this weekend we talked about our "dreams" of what we want to look like and what our goals are for exercise and eating. We tend to say that, "We'll start tomorrow." Instead, we started tonight. We did a 3.75 mile run, stretched afterwards, and packed our lunches for tomorrow. We're changing a couple things at once, and wanted people to be able to follow us, so we decided to start our blogs over too. I'm going to change my title to, "Blah, Blah, Blog." This is because as I said earlier, alot of times, it's all talk. We're going to back it up this time though. I hope you enjoy our journey from today straight through September 19th, which is the Philly Half Marathon, and beyond. We'll set two goals a week. Weight loss goal, and exercise goal. I'll list those last. Thanks for tuning in and I'll keep you updated twice a week. See you soon.

Exercise goal: 16 miles this week before Sunday (running) and ab workouts (3 ab workouts)
Weight goal: 4 lbs. lost (starting at 237 lbs.)

Sidenote: There will be shirtless pictures once a week of me. Just as a heads up.

Janitorial Sarfession #13

"Yes, we know it's 98 degrees outside. Yes, we know it's the worst possible day to be weeding the islands. Yes, you are the 37th person to tell us this. Yes, Rob is sweaty and angry. And finally, NO! We will NOT come to your house and do the same job for free." What do you think we are? Stupid?

Don't answer that.

"Rules were meant to be broken. In Hacksaw's world...EVERYTHING was meant to be broken." The Midas touch holds true in Rob's world, except everything he touches, breaks. I got a phone call one night with Rob on the other end saying something to the effect of "I can't get the back door closed." Now, mind you, the "back door" at work weighs something like 50 pounds and is made of thick metal. Maybe even steel. Regardless, I remember thinking to myself, "That door is going to be broken when I come in in the morning." Sure enough, not to disappoint, the door was hanging by a hinge when I came in. He truly is an amazing speciman. The Hacksaw. No other nickname is as fitting.

Yes, we know it's broken. By calling and alerting us, you've now claimed full responsibility for it.

"We're over at WaWa. Stop calling us." Seriously, if I leave the grounds one more time and my phone rings, when I come back it's going to be at 55 mph and I'm crashing in to the welcome center. Besides, it's your fault I'm at WaWa anyway. If you hadn't labeled your food, I'd have had meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I LOVE meatloaf. Not the singer. I hate him.
